This earthen baked terracotta pot is dug partially under the ground and fired with charcoal from outside to give you the taste of authentic undhiyu - a Gujarati delicacy.
This unique clay matka is hard to find anywhere in the USA. Includes lid and pot. Dimension: 10" diameter 4" high Undhiyu is a spicy vegetable dish from Gujarat (India). It is made by mixing a lot of seasonable vegetable in oil and topped with garlic, ginger, chilli pepper, sugar and Indian spices. The vegetables are slow cooked for a long time and little water is added to make sure the vegetables get cooked. The traditional recipe is made in earthen pot called Matlu. The word Undhu means upside down.
