Pincers (sandashi / pakkad) - These are tongs with a somewhat scissor like shape but are used to hold hot cookware. Pakkad means 'grabber'. Many traditional Indian cookware are without handles and these pincers are used to hold the hot cookware and stir the food while being cooked. They are also used to grab and remove the hot cookware from stove.
